The wind was howling outside and shook the trees wildly as we sat watching tv with our friends in Houtbay, Cape Town. I haven’t taken my camera out for an art shoot yet, but as the sun started setting on one of our last days of holiday, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to hike into the nearby mountains for a quick shoot. I was looking to do a composite shot showing the wild environment and wind and had to wait for gusts of wind to get the right effect, but kept shooting in between simply because it was so beautiful. The clouds were racing past and I ended up with far more photos than anticipated even though we only spent about 20 minutes on the mountain.
Here are some black and white outtakes that I really love:
Just before we walked back down, I asked Andrea to wait while I took a photo of her against sun with Houtbay harbour far in the background. Such a serene place.
